The Rangiuru Business Park has transitioned into a new phase, awarding the tender for the interchange in September 2022 to Higgins. Construction is due to start almost immediately on the interchange, with earthworks and preliminary works commencing late October 2022, taking approximately 26 months to complete.
This interchange will allow entry direct to the Business Park from the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road (TEL TR), ensuring easy connectivity through multi-modal transport links. It will ensure our vision of a modern, connected industrial part comes to life. This interchange is also partly funded by the Provincial Growth Fund.
In this early stage, we envisage limited impact for travellers and the local community as these preliminary works take place. As we get closer to next stage of the construction, we will update the local community to advise of traffic management plans and impacts to traffic flow.
This interchange is separate to the Pāpāmoa East interchange which is being constructed by Tauranga City Council and started work in August 2022, connecting the Pāpāmoa East suburbs to the TEL TR.
As we move to this new stage of the Rangiuru Business Park, the benefit for the immediate community and beyond starts to come to fruition with employment opportunities through the construction phase.
