Travelling to Tauranga (westbound) you may have noticed several large pieces of equipment including a 100-tonne crane and piling rig. This is to allow for the commencement of piling operations for bridge abutments. Piling works on the westbound is scheduled to take three weeks (weather permitting) before switching to the eastbound side. While these works are being carried out, we will be undertaking culvert diversions for earthworks entry and exit ramps on both sides of the expressway.
